At Fambee ("we", "our", or "us"), we respect your family's privacy and are committed to protecting personal data. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, store, process, and safeguard the information you provide when using our website (fambee.me), web application (app.fambee.me), and mobile applications.
Core Principle: Fambee is a private, closed household organizer. We do not sell personal data, we do not run third-party advertising networks, and we never monetize family or children's personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information to provide and improve the collaborative family organizer experience:
Account & Authentication Information: When you register or sign in via email or third-party authentication (such as Google Sign-In), we receive your basic account identifier, email address, display name, and avatar image.
Family Profile & Household Metadata: Information you configure inside your private household, including member display names, relationship roles (parent, child, teen, adult), avatar selections, chore points, and room configurations.
User-Generated Content: Operational family lists, chore schedules, family calendar appointments, meal plans, recipes, pantry and storage inventories, and private photos or comments shared to your household's Memories gallery.
Location Data: If you explicitly enable location-based features (e.g., weather updates or the "What's On & Outings" discovery feature), we access your approximate or GPS coordinates to discover local family events. Location data is processed temporarily to retrieve local results and is not tracked or sold.
Device & Usage Data: Technical logs such as browser type, operating system, IP address, and crash reports (via Sentry) to maintain app reliability, performance, and security.
2. Google User Data & OAuth Policy Compliance
Fambee offers optional integrations with Google services to streamline family scheduling, chore management, and household task coordination. If you choose to connect your Google account with Fambee, our access to and use of your Google user data is strictly limited as described below:
A. Specific Scopes & Data Accessed
Google Sign-In & Profile (openid, email, profile):
We access your basic Google profile information (name, email address, profile picture) and unique Google account ID solely to authenticate you securely and associate your profile with your private Fambee household.
Google Calendar Integration (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar):
When you explicitly enable Google Calendar integration in Settings > Integrations, Fambee accesses your Google Calendar data to:
Create and maintain a dedicated secondary calendar titled "Fambee Family Calendar" (using calendars.insert) to keep family schedules synchronized without cluttering or overwriting your primary personal calendar.
Read and display event metadata (titles, start/end dates, locations, recurrence rules, and reminders) from user-selected calendars on your family planner.
Bi-directionally synchronize family appointments, allowing you to add, edit, or delete events seamlessly from both Fambee and Google Calendar.
Google Tasks Integration (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks):
When you explicitly enable Google Tasks integration on a connected list or chore hub in Settings > Integrations or list settings, Fambee accesses your Google Tasks data to:
Create dedicated task lists in your Google account corresponding to your Fambee to-do lists or chore categories.
Read, create, update, mark complete, and delete tasks and nested subtasks bi-directionally between Fambee and Google Tasks.
Synchronize task deadlines, notes, and completion statuses across household devices. Google Tasks sync is strictly opt-in and disabled by default.
B. Google Limited Use Disclosure
Fambee's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
C. Strict Limitations on Use of Google User Data
No Sale or Commercial Transfer: We never sell, rent, lease, or monetize your Google user data to data brokers, advertising networks, or third parties under any circumstances.
No Advertising: Google user data is never used or transferred for serving advertisements, personalized promotions, or retargeting campaigns.
No AI Model Training: Google user data is never used to train, develop, or improve generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML) models.
No Unauthorized Human Review: No human at Fambee reads your Google Calendar events or Google Tasks content unless:
You provide explicit, affirmative consent for technical troubleshooting;
It is strictly necessary for security purposes (such as investigating an exploit, abuse, or system failure);
It is required to comply with applicable law or legal process; or
The data is aggregated and anonymized for internal technical operations.
Storage & Encryption: OAuth tokens and user data are encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 standard encryption. Tokens are stored securely and never exposed in client-side code.
D. User Control, Revocation & Deletion
You retain full control over your Google integration at all times:
Disconnecting within Fambee: You can disconnect your Google Calendar or Google Tasks integration at any time by navigating to Settings > Integrations and clicking "Disconnect". Upon disconnection, stored access and refresh tokens are immediately purged, and all syncing ceases.
Account Deletion: If you delete your Fambee account, all associated metadata, cached identifiers, and credentials are permanently purged from our databases immediately.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the data collected strictly for the following purposes:
To provide, operate, and maintain your private household organizer and collaborative tools.
To synchronize calendar schedules, daily routines, shopping lists, and notifications across your family devices in real time.
To authenticate users and prevent unauthorized access or account takeovers.
To process premium subscriptions and in-app upgrades through authorized billing partners (Google Play Billing and RevenueCat).
To communicate essential service updates, password resets, and customer support replies.
4. Data Storage, Security & Retention
Secure Cloud Infrastructure: All user database records, authentication credentials, and media files are stored using enterprise-grade database servers hosted via Supabase.
Encryption Standards: Data in transit is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3 / HTTPS). Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 standard encryption.
Data Retention: We retain your household and personal data as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your personal data and uploaded content are permanently purged from active databases.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We only share necessary data with trusted infrastructure providers that comply with strict privacy regulations:
Authentication & Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL hosting and auth infrastructure).
Subscription Billing: RevenueCat and Google Play Store Billing APIs. We never handle or store your raw payment card details.
Error Telemetry: Sentry (anonymized crash telemetry for stability monitoring).
6. Children's Privacy & Safety (COPPA & Global Standards)
Protecting children is fundamental to Fambee:
Closed Family Architecture: Fambee is not a public social network. Children and minors cannot create standalone public accounts; they participate solely through managed profiles administered by their parent or legal guardian.
No Public Discovery or Stranger Messaging: Fambee does not feature public follower models, search discovery, public directories, or stranger messaging. All family memories, schedules, and chore chats remain visible strictly to members invited by the family administrator.
No Commercial Exploitation or Ad Targeting: We do not serve targeted advertisements to children and do not monetize children's data under any circumstance.
Parental Rights: Parents and legal guardians retain full rights to review, modify, or permanently delete their children's profiles and contributions at any time.
7. Your Rights & Data Deletion
Under applicable privacy laws (including GDPR, CCPA, and Australian Privacy Principles), you have the right to:
Access & Export: Request a copy of the personal data held in your household account.
Correction: Update or correct your profile details directly in the app settings.
Deletion: You can delete your account, household members, or your entire family organization directly in the app under Settings > Family Settings > Delete Account, or by visiting our dedicated Account Deletion Portal.
